Do you have those times when you go to the grocery store starving...ravishing. And you get a lot of extra stuff because you are so hungry? Yep, ok. And then once you get home you are just so hungry and can't wait until dinner that you just break into a 'bag or box o' junk' just to have a small bite to tide you over till dinner? And one small bite leads to another small bite which leads to 10 small bites? Yeah, that's what happened to me. I didn't even make it to dinner, as I ate a good amount of this.
I didn't even cut a piece and plate it, I just grabbed a fork and dug right in. How bad is that?
Those grocery stores are smart by putting the Entenmann's baked goods right near the checkout aisles, so when we pass them by we are enticed to buy them, now.
My favorite, obviously, is the raspberry danish. Don't buy it!
What is your worst 'I'm starving while grocery shopping moment?'
Do share...

Haha, enjoy ;-)
ReplyDeleteLol, my grocery store places these right near the produce section. It's so annoying, but I don't let myself buy them! I don't have a really good checkout story. I wish I did.
ReplyDeleteOh, I have had those bad girl moments. Let's see, there's the time when I ate the whole bag of poatato chips at the check out line. And then the time, I bought the already prepared chicken salad sandwich and ate it while driving with mayo running down my face and all over the floor of the car.Don't worry, there's always tomorrow:)
ReplyDeleteI've had that sort of thing happen before!
ReplyDeleteYes! Yes! and Yes! Only I buy the cheese danish ;)
ReplyDeleteI ate an ENTIRE bag of white chocolate covered pretzels last week while shopping. It was a days worth of calories, but they were DAMN good.
ReplyDeleteOh I can't even sleep if there is a bag of chips open in this house. It needs to be consumed...by me.
ReplyDeleteHaHa, you had me laughing out loud with this one. Don't feel bad, because I bet it felt real good eating it. Reese's Pieces are my weakness.
ReplyDeleteYou are hilarious...ha ha! I've had my weak moments, just recently with Florentines...oooooh, the guilt almost killed me. Our check-outs here are pretty boring, so I'm saved from what you did; but I would have joined you with a BIG fork too Dawn! It's OK once in a while...
ReplyDeleteHa! I love those things! The raspberry ones are my favorite too.
ReplyDeleteI used to work at a grocery store. I remember one time working in the morning and grabbing one to have a piece of for breakfast. I worked in a dairy case, so I just set it on a shelf in the fridge and had a bite every once in a while. I ate the entire thing over the course of my shift. :D
I love those
ReplyDeleteLol! They do say not to go shopping when you're hungry!!! I have several of those moments, where cookies don't even make it home. Sad...
ReplyDeleteOh, definitely Kettle brand Chips, but those are good for you. Ha ha ha :)
ReplyDeleteMy weakness is the Hot Asain bar. You can smell it all over the store. So if I am hungry I will swing by there and buy too many egg rolls and eat them ALL in the car before I get home! BAD!
ReplyDeleteif at all possible, i don't shop for groceries on an empty stomach. i end up spending way too much on absolute junk.
ReplyDeleteand of course i've resorted to digging into a store-bought cake or pie or treat of some sort. we're only human. :)
ha ha....we need this kind of indulging once a while :)
ReplyDeleteHa, too funny! I try to avoid the store when I am starving but sometimes you can't! We all have these moments, just indulge and enjoy it:)
ReplyDeleteI love the raspberry danish! I have those bad girl moments too often lately. This would have been one terrific dinner!
ReplyDeleteYeah I'm with you Dawn. I think that happens EVERYTIME we go for groceries. I don't eat before I go, then dive into the bags before they hit the counter!
ReplyDeleteYou're my kind of bad girl. :) My weakness is kettle brand chips.
ReplyDeleteYou crack me up, Dawn! I've never eaten an a danish, but I have eaten a slice of pizza or a bag of chips right in the store. I just hand the clerk the empty bag.
ReplyDeleteYour veggie soups looks delicious. I love my soups thick too, but the hubby likes broth so it is a constant area of discussion.
Usually it the container of Oreo's or doughnuts from the bakery section of the store. Our local grocer has a store brand of those danishes. I like the caramel and nut one. Bad, bad, bad, but life is short; enjoy the cookies! Or danish :)
ReplyDeleteHa Ha it happens to me too :)next time eat something healthy before going to the store :)
ReplyDeleteA weak moment... and I've had a few, well truth be told far more than I'll like to admit to LOL!!! It's so dangerous to walk into a market hungry!!! Most times I can completely bypass all that's saying "take me home" !! ;-)
ReplyDeleteEntenmann's used to make this gooey chocolate brownie with a mocha frosting that I used to eat like crazy. My Dad would buy them all at the store and freeze them for when I came over. Then we would polish off one or two in that weekend. I really should weigh 300 pounds by now.
ReplyDeleteLooks like I may need to introduce this one to my parents the next time I go down there.
I know this story all too well! I can't keep count teh number of times I have got stuck into some food after shopping and then been too full up to eat a meal.
ReplyDeleteI had to chuckle reading this. :-)
I tend to go for the chocolate. I'm pretty good about not making impulse purchases. My husband? Can't be stopped!
ReplyDeleteNice. I came for a return visit. I'm still detoxing, I'm hungry and you have a big, beautiful peanut butter cup cake. Aughhhhh.
ReplyDeleteOMG, I hate when things jump in the cart and you don't know it til you get home! :D
ReplyDeleteYou are too funny!! I know that feeling...I'm usually eating a bag of chips or some french bread in the CAR!!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite is their cheese Danish. I remember when I was little and I visited my grandparents, my grandfather would get one for me. That's what grandparents are for - the things you're not allowed to have at home!
ReplyDeleteI try not to go near anything that is entitled Entenmann's because I will grab it, pig out and eat it until I'm done! I love anything made by Entenmann's! I don't blame you one bit for being a bad girl. ;)
ReplyDeleteI used to do this all the time, and my roommates would tease me and call it my "bachelor cake!"
